A company director from Falkirk, who tried to steal over £57,000 in fraudulent VAT repayments by faking invoices, has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to tax fraud; following a tax investigation by HM Revenue and Customs.
Dominic Haseltine aged 40, pleaded guilty at Falkirk Sheriff Court to a VAT fraud involving 2 companies of which he was sole director: Indalo Digital UK Ltd (registered in Polmont), and HD Video Europe Ltd (registered in West Bromwich). During the period April 2010 to September 2012 the VAT he fraudulently reclaimed was £57,349.
